Aquatic anapsids
by: Roger

Mesosaurs were aquatic, though from where their fossil remains have been found it's likely that they were fresh water animals and not sea going. They were quite small and were probably fish eaters. Despite their outward similarity to animals like Kronosaurus, they were no more closely related to those creatures than they were related to early mammals.
